intro
i have been an active voice in the emerging/conceptual conversation for over 15 years. i have served as senior pastor and church planter. some consider me a “leader” in the emerging/conceptual conversation, and a dynamic, honest, up front speaker. i have been called a ” creative futurist ” and “someone who should be heard.”
besides being the founder of ginkworld, i have written for a number of other ezines, the Ooze , dtour , Next-Wave , and others. i have also written for homiletics and other publications.
what others say about john:
“Not only does John have a bright vision of the church; he has initiated strategies and networks to help the church itself become visionary. One of the consultants out there I trust the most and learn the most from.” Leonard Sweet, Senior Professor, Drew University, George Fox DMin Professor and Author of several books
“As an entrepreneur, leader, and communicator, John is a catalyst for the kingdom of God in our emerging culture. His unique and trusted voice has been highly influential in my own life and countless others.” Jim Palmer, writer, author of “Divine Nobodies”
“I met John through his superb web site, and have interacted with him on e-mail. John is highly thought of, and quoted and referred to regularly. As a person and for his web resources I recommend him regularly, and highly.” Jason Clark, Founding Pastor, Vineyard Church and Emerging voice in Great Britain
“Scores of EC [Emerging Church] proponents are using blogs to advance these ideas and stimulate dialogue. Lindner says it is not possible to generalize them into a predictable demographic class, but she offers examples of prominent EC bloggers: John O’Keefe, founder of www.ginkworld.net, an emerging/postmodern site exploring what it means to be a follower of Jesus in today’s world;…” NCC’s 2006 Yearbook of American and Canadian Churches cites two 21st century trends: blogging and the Emergent Church
love this:
John 1:14 [The Message] , “The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood . We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish.” [I love the idea that Jesus lives next-door.]
